Kelly has been teaching Elementary PE for 25 years in the DeKalb School District in Illinois.  She is the 2021 IAHPERD Elementary PE Teacher of the Year and the 2022 Midwest Elementary PE Teacher of the Year. She is currently the President of IAHPERD. She has a Masters Degree in Administration and a Masters in Literacy with a bilingual emphasis from Northern Illinois University, as well as an ESL endorsement and Adapted PE Certification..
